NCST Signed an MOU with PSF on Cooperation in Areas of Science, Technology and Research & development (R&D) for National Development

On 11th November 2021, National Council for Science and Technology (NCST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Private Sector Federation (PSF). The objectives of the MOU are to facilitate collaboration between NCST and PSF to utilize science and technology tools and research to boost small- and large-scale businesses for improved innovations and promotion of industrial development.

Both NCST and PSF will promote mutual participation by staff from Government Institutions, academia (Universities or Higher Learning Institutions), industry (medium and large-scale private businesses) and Private Non-for- Profit (PNP) organizations to increase R&D performance thereby promoting opportunities for improved STI related innovations.

The expected outcomes include improved knowledge of the role of science and technology to boost business measured by increased number of businesses utilizing tech tools and facilities, increased engagement and collaboration between researchers and private sector players measured by joint R&D and mutually implemented projects, and increased awareness and engagement of stakeholders in local production and ‘Made In Rwanda’ value addition, as well as increased quality and quantity of entrepreneurs and jobs created as a result of this partnership.
