
From 22nd to 24th July 2019, the National Council for Science and Technology (NCST), with the support of the Science Granting Council Initiative (SGCI) and the Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA), has organized a 3-days training workshop on “How to write fundable Research grant proposals”.
The objective of this training workshop was to strengthen the skills and knowledge of researchers in writing fundable research proposals.
The 3-days training workshop had the following specific objectives:
- Equip participants with fundamental style considerations for writing acceptable and fundable research grant proposals;
- Learn the skills and techniques of formatting content of each section of research/grant proposal;
- Learn to write research proposals following given instructions;
- Equip faculty staff and researchers with information regarding peer critiques for scientific paper writing.
In his opening remarks, the Ag. Executive Secretary of NCST, Kalisa Felly, highlighted that the development of human resource capacity will be achieved through investing in skills development and promotion of research and dissemination capacities to spur growth in priority development sectors, and in industrial manufacturing, trade and investment opportunities.
The Ag. Executive Secretary concluded with expressing his thanks to NCST collaborators, the Science Granting Council Initiative (SGCI), the Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA), and the training expert in particular.
